Golden Girl Pejcic: 3 Medal's in 3 World Cups

Well the ELEY team felt really sorry for the competitors in the Women’s 3P; after a glorious sunny and still morning for the Men’s Prone the weather in Munich turned and the Women’s PET was gusty and unpredictable.

The Elimination yesterday was windy and cold, and today’s qualification had the added difficulty of heavy rain which made reading the wind on the range near impossible. Even Pejcic scored a 91 in standing which is very uncharacteristic from this amazing shooter.

Zublasing shot really well in the hazardous conditions and qualified in first place with a score of 588. Following Zublasing into the final was Korol (KAZ), Voronova (EST), Zhang (CHN), Pejcic (CRO), Nordahl (NOR), Zhukova (RUS) & Thrasher (USA).

The kneeling series was of a very high quality with all athletes putting in exceptional scores. The on-form Snjezana Pejcic was amazingly consistent throughout the kneeling series with an average of 52.6, an amazing standard by any means, which edged her into the lead. Nordahl from Norway performed well, and the USA’s Thrasher just missed out on a podium slot in her first World Cup final.

It was clear after the first prone series that no-one was going to catch Pejcic, who raises the bar every time she shoots. She held a healthy lead throughout the final to win Gold and her third .22LR medal out of three World Cups.
Voronova fought hard against Zublasing, shooting the first 10.9 in the final, and although the pair switched from second to third place it was Voronova who won the Silver and Zublasing secured Bronze.
