ELEY Shooters win Olympic Gold, Silver & Bronze

ELEY Shooters win Olympic Gold, Silver and Bronze and set a New Olympic Record.


Today was the start of the start of the .22 shooting, PET for the Men and Women in the 50m hall and the Women’s 25m Pistol.


The competition was tough today, with another full hall of spectators. The ladies really felt the pressure. Even the most experienced shooters like 6 time Olympian Jasna Sekaric and 5 time Olympian Maria Grozdeva lost out on the final. Grozdeva fought so incredibility hard after a disappointing precision stage with 284, her rapid fire stage was amazing to watch shooting 299.


Grozdeva managed to get into the shoot off for the final along with Zorana Arunovic and JO Yong Suk. Even the shoot off at the Olympics wasn’t clear cut the first shooter to go through was Jo Yong Suk leaving Arunovic and Grozdeva in another drawn. The crowd watched with bated breath as the two took the 5 shots Arunovic shot a 50 and Grozdeva a 49.


The finalists were Kim Jangmi ,Prucksakorn Tanyaporn, CHen Ying, Mozgalova Kira, Kostevych Olena, Csonka Zsofia, JO Yong Suk and Arunovic Zorana.


The final looked as if it was going to be fairly predictable, after series 1 Kim had a huge 5 point lead. Chen tried her best to take the Gold, and did at one point rise into 1st place but it was Kim who not only won the Gold but set a New Olympic Record in qualification. Chen won Silver and Olena Kosteyvch won her second London 2012 Olympic Bronze Medal.
