Background

As a little girl Amy watched the Olympics every moment it was on T.V. fascinated and inspired by Mary Lou Retton and Kerri Strug. She quickly developed an Olympic dream, telling everyone she was going to the Olympics. The only problem was that she didn't have a sport!

During Amy's last year of high school she decided it was time to find the sport that would make her Olympic dream come true. She was 18 when she started shooting competitive rifle in 2003.

In order to find a path to the Olympics, Amy thought it was necessary to play a sport in college. She did some research on sports and thought she may do well in shooting. Her father was an avid hunter, so she had a background shooting rifles. She also thought that she might do well based on her 4-H shooting sports experience.

After locating a junior rifle club and getting a crash course in equipment, Amy attended her first Junior Olympics. The next year she walked on to the University of Kentucky rifle team, worked hard and excelled over the next four years. During Amy's last year of college she qualified for the USA National Team. After she graduated from the University of Kentucky, she moved to Colorado Springs to live at the Olympic Training Center. Amy started traveling to World Cups in 2007, and made her first final in 2008 in Rio de Janeiro.

Amy's first World Cup medal was a silver in Australia this year. One year out from London and Amy is now just a few more steps from completing her Olympic dream.

Which ELEY product do you shoot ?

Eley tenex.

Why do you shoot ELEY ?

I shoot ELEY because I can count on it to be consistent and accurate. I know that I am getting the smallest group size possible in practices and matches. I also know that I can call my shots with Tenex, leading to a higher quality practice. Quality practice leads to great matches. This year I won a silver medal in Australia with ELEY and I know it was because my skill level is reflected in the accuracy of Tenex.
