Background

James started shooting with an air rifle aged 14. He joined a local club and worked his way through the variety of disciplines up to national level. When James started to shoot, his parents were understandably apprehensive but have since embraced the sport as much as he does.

James started shooting a discipline called Field Target. It involves shooting at 60 different targets around a course from distances of 10-50m. All of this is done outdoors so you have to contend with the elements. This gave him a firm understanding of basic ballistics and the technical knowledge of shooting.

When he found out shooting was in the Olympics, James soon migrated over to the Olympic disciplines and hasn’t looked back.

On top of his shooting James is looking to pursue a career in finance.
